This Privacy Policy describes how the Toolbox Vault mobile application (“Toolbox Vault,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”) on iOS and Android devices. By installing or using the App, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Account Information: Email address and password (passwords are stored using one-way bcrypt hashing — we never see your plaintext password).
• Tool & Inventory Data: Names, photos, model numbers, purchase dates, prices, locations, dealers, warranty info, receipts, and any content you choose to enter.
• Dealer & Contact Info: Dealer business names, agent names, phone numbers, and email addresses you choose to add.
• Borrower Info: Names and phone numbers of people you check tools out to — typed manually or imported from your device's Contacts with your explicit permission.
• Photos & Receipts: Images you upload from the camera or photo library.
• Subscription Info: Subscription tier, purchase date, renewal status (processed by Apple App Store or Google Play — we never see your payment card details).
• Feedback & Support: Any feedback or bug reports you submit through the in-app form.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Diagnostics: Anonymous crash logs and performance data used to fix bugs. No personal content is included.
• Aggregate Usage: Counts of which features are used, not tied to your identity.

1.3 Information We Do Not Collect

• Location data of any kind.
• Microphone audio.
• Health, fitness, or medical data.
• Browsing history outside the App.
• Payment card or banking information (handled solely by Apple/Google).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App's core functionality.
• Sync your inventory data securely across your devices.
• Process and verify your subscription.
• Respond to support requests and feedback.
• Detect, prevent, and fix technical or security issues.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.

3. Data Linked to Your Identity (Apple App Privacy)

For Apple App Store privacy nutrition labels, the following data is collected and linked to your identity (your account):

• Email address (account creation)
• User content (your tool inventory, photos, receipts, dealers, borrowers, notes)
• Identifiers (an internal user ID and a RevenueCat anonymous identifier)
• Purchase history (subscription status only)
• Diagnostics (crash logs)

None of this is used for tracking, advertising, or shared with third-party marketers.

4. Information Sharing & Third Parties

We share information only with these limited service providers, each contractually bound to confidentiality:

5. Data Storage, Security & Retention

• All data in transit is encrypted with industry-standard TLS/HTTPS.
• Passwords are stored using one-way bcrypt hashing.
• Photos and receipts are stored on secure servers with restricted access.
• We retain your data only for as long as your account is active.
• When you delete your account, all your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days (some encrypted backups may persist up to 90 days before they cycle out).

6. Your Rights & Choices

You can, at any time:

• Access your data — it is visible in-app at all times.
• Correct any data directly in the App.
• Export all your data via More → Import / Export → Export CSV.
• Delete your entire account (and all associated data) via More → Account → Delete Account. This is irreversible.
• Revoke any permission (Camera, Photos, Contacts, Face ID, Notifications) in your device's Settings.
• Cancel your subscription in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

6.1 EU / UK Residents (GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, port, and erase your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us using the email below to exercise these rights.

6.2 California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to know what categories of personal information we collect, to delete personal information, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of any “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information.

6.3 Other US States

If you reside in a US state with a comprehensive privacy law (e.g., VA, CO, CT, UT, TX), you have substantially similar rights and can exercise them by contacting us using the email below.

7. Children's Privacy

Toolbox Vault is rated 4+ but is not intended for use by children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at the email below and we will delete it.

8. Permissions Requested by the App

You may decline any of these and continue using the App.

9. Subscription Auto-Renewal

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account at purchase confirmation.
• Subscriptions auto-renew at the same price each period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID or Google Play account settings.

10. International Transfers

Our servers may be located in the United States. By using the App you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States, subject to safeguards equivalent to those in your home jurisdiction.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The current version is always available at this URL and inside the App. Material changes will be highlighted via an in-app banner at next launch.

Terms of Use (EULA)

By downloading, installing, or using the Toolbox Vault mobile application (the “App”), you (“you” or “User”) agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (these “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not install or use the App.

1. License Grant

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the App on any iOS or Android device that you own or control, subject to these Terms and (for iOS users) Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA).

2. Description of Service

Toolbox Vault is a personal mobile inventory tracker that lets you:

• Catalog your personal tools, equipment, and assets
• Track checkouts and loans to others
• Record dealer accounts, payments, and warranties
• Generate PDF reports for insurance, sales, and personal records
• Scan receipts using AI-assisted OCR
• Store photos of items, receipts, and documents

3. Eligibility & Account

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
• You must provide accurate and complete information.
• One person per account; account sharing is not permitted.

4. Subscriptions, Auto-Renewal & Billing

4.1 Free Tier

The free tier of the App allows tracking up to 15 tools along with related dealer, warranty, and checkout data.

4.2 Pro Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions unlock unlimited tools, advanced PDF reports, AI receipt scanning, and other premium features. Subscriptions are offered as:

• Pro Monthly — auto-renewing every 1 month.
• Pro Yearly — auto-renewing every 12 months at a discount.

Exact pricing in your local currency is displayed in the App immediately before purchase confirmation.

4.3 Payment

All subscription payments are processed and billed by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android), not by us directly. We do not see your payment card details.

4.4 Refunds

Refunds are governed exclusively by Apple's or Google's respective refund policies. We are unable to issue refunds for App Store or Google Play purchases. To request a refund, contact Apple or Google support.

4.5 Free Trials

If a free trial is offered, any unused portion is forfeited when you start a paid subscription.

4.6 Price Changes

If we change subscription prices, we will notify you in advance. You will have the opportunity to cancel before the new price takes effect on your next renewal.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code.
• Store or transmit malicious code, spam, or harmful content.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
• Attempt unauthorized access to other users' accounts or our servers.
• Harass, abuse, or harm another person.
• Upload content that infringes another party's intellectual property rights.
• Use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to interact with the App.

Violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination.

6. User Content

• You retain ownership of all content you create in the App.
• You grant us a limited license to store and process your content solely to provide the App's functionality.
• You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you create.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, branding, and original content, is the property of Toolbox Vault and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or sell any part of the App without our written permission.

8. AI Features Disclaimer

The App uses AI-assisted features (such as receipt scanning) to help speed up data entry. AI suggestions are not guaranteed to be accurate. You are solely responsible for reviewing and correcting any AI-generated data before saving it.

9. Data Backup & Export

We make reasonable efforts to back up your data, but we are not responsible for any loss of data. You are encouraged to periodically export your inventory via the built-in Export CSV feature.

10. Account Deletion

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time via More → Account → Delete Account. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

11. Service Availability

We strive to keep the App available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The App may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for losses caused by App unavailability.

12. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE ERROR-FREE OR UNINTERRUPTED.

13. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE APP WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR USD $50, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from (a) your use of the App, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any rights of another party.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. The current version is always available within the App and at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. Material changes will be notified via an in-app banner at next launch.

16. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State in which Toolbox Vault's principal place of business is located in the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the App shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

17. Apple-Specific Terms (iOS Users)

In addition to these Terms, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to your use of the App on iOS. In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA with respect to iOS-specific matters, the Apple EULA controls. You acknowledge:

• These Terms are between you and Toolbox Vault, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
• Your use of the App is subject to the App Store Terms of Service.
• If the App fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, who may refund the purchase price; Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding the App.
• Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App, including product-liability or consumer-protection claims.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
